The tidying up is going slowly and so I thought today should be more about enjoyment – isn’t that what this is about? So, my Six on Saturday in The Fortnight Garden is indulgent!
1.I enjoy red and the Bergenias ‘Abendglut’ and ‘Silberlicht’ are both starting to reward me, alongside Sedum ‘Autumn Joy’. The sedums came from Beth Chatto many years ago before she was a household name, and possibly the white bergenias originated from her as well.
2.Yellow always makes me feel cheerful and so I am enjoying the yellow leaves of the Roseraie de L’Haye and the seed heads of the Stipa Gigantea. And they look especially good in some sunshine!
3.I love the Red-Gold in the leaves of the Canary Bird, seen against the light. This rose was cut down two years ago so that we could paint the house and it has more than bounced back.
4.The seed heads of the Japanese Anemones continue to provide pleasure.
5.And the Silvers in the Curry Plant and the Euphorbia remind me of the winter to come.
6.Finally, in this Six on Saturday in The Fortnight Garden, I love the bottle brushes of Penisetum!
And around all that enjoyment I have cut down, composted, and planted a tub of bulbs! I hope my Six on Saturday in The Fortnight Garden finds favour with The Propagator!
