Well, fired up by the pleasure of the garden and enjoyment from ‘Open Gardens’ in other villages, I have suggested to Cratfield that we ‘Open Gardens’ to fundraise for specific projects in the Village Hall and the Church of St Mary.

I made the Chocolate Guinness Cake again this weekend and I think I have my definitive recipe – this time I added Chinese Five-Spice Powder, with some cinnamon. The flavour is dense, but not overpowering, and also slightly unusual. I think the recipe is ready for ‘The Book’!
