Up on the north coast of Spain, in Ribadeo, the weather continues to be glorious, with cool and misty mornings and hot afternoons. The parks here are not as generously planted as in London, and in this town the planting is not only minimal but also quite formal. Impatiens is used a lot, as are bedding begonias, and there are interesting trees in the streets. So my Six plants from Ribadeo this Saturday (sorry about the delay!) shows you what I saw in the town’s park.
1.Pink impatiens are bright, pretty, and abundant. They are clearly happy in this climate.

2.White impatiens are just as abundant as their pink relatives, and equally happy!

3. And there are even Red impatiens!

4.Bedding begonias are bright here, but then they are bright everywhere – a real workhorse flower for open, public spaces.

5. The Cannas were beautiful and continue the orangey red colours of today.

6.And strawberry trees in the streets!

Yes, you would be right in thinking the public parks and gardens use a lot of impatiens! I hope this meets with the approval of The Propagator and I hope my fellow gardeners enjoy the colour of my six plants from Ribadeo this week!
There’s a lot of colour in your town. Love the strawberry tree!
Glad you like it!
I think I have several of those impatiens in my garden! And a purple one too which is the best of the lot.
I have seen them in all the parks and they continue to be colourful!
Impatiens are good workhorses. I’m another reader who likes the strawberry tree.
The just look so abundant here! Pleased you like the strawberry tree!
