The second set of gardens embody theĀ Romantic: The Garden of the Rising Sun, the Garden of the Bois Decisifs, the Garden of Exotic Perfumes, the Garden of Carnivorous Plants (!), the Garden of the Four Seasons, and the Avenue of Modern Roses.
The Garden of the Rising SunĀ is where I spent most of my time, just wandering. The wide views were beautiful, but it was the details which really were astounding.

Hidden in the trees were temples and statues, paths were narrow, winding amongst the trees and bushes, and over the water were beautiful bridges.

There were extraordinary conifers, which I didn’t recognise.

A suspension bridge led to theĀ Bois Decisifs,Ā with autumn crocuses under the trees and teddy bears overlooking the lake. The remainder of the Romantic Gardens had passed their best, or perhaps I was just getting tired.
