I loved these gardens and returned more than once to just wander and enjoy.

I had never seen waterplants like these before – I think they may be Lotus plants. I recognised the lotus flower & seedpod, and the waterlilies were beautiful at all times of the day.

And nearby were these amazing caladiums.
I feel plants should be encouraged to reach their full potential – and so the Bonsai Garden was interesting and I admired the work and achievements although I don’t really understand the philosophy of Bonsai.
The Rose Garden was pretty, but after seeing the Karoo Desert Botanic Garden and Fynbos in our walks it was a bit ‘ordinary’.
There were many beautiful ferns…
The stepping stones led over the water, the succulents are extraordinary, there is a vegetable garden, and so on …. do visit and just wander!
Do visit the Botanic Gardens if you are in Stellenbosch – wander, sit, have tea, or lunch, or a glass of chilled local wine!
wow !! such beauty !!!
It is a magical park – in the middle of the town, quiet & peaceful, and with an excellent cafe!
Beautiful photos! I adore botanical gardens and try to visit them wherever I go. This one looks wonderful! 🙂
It is wonderful, and the cafe is very good too! You need to book to get in for lunch!
Lovely photos Candy…it reminds me a little of our visit to the Sky Garden!!
