Bi-colour Bread & Yoghurt Cake

These two baking explorations were not successful. Karen, whose blog I much admire, baked an interesting Marbled Rye Bread recently, but I found the taste too salty for my liking, and the texture rather dry – this was no doubt because I did not add sufficient liquid. I could taste the cocoa and didn’t care for the flavour.

I need a successful Yoghurt Cake for the Cratfield Open Weekend, 14 & 15 June this year. This recipe by Mary Berry was posted on the internet and thought I would be safe. Sadly the taste is much too sweet for my liking, and I couldn’t taste the lemon either. I didn’t bother to ice the cake – I cannot recommend this recipe!

    • Yes, I like the marbling effect in the bread; I might try the idea once more, with less cocoa and using my own bread recipe, with an overnight rise. But I am looking at other recipes for the yoghurt cake
