Autumn Fruit

Autumn arrived suddenly, two weeks ago while we were sleeping. It is a season which always feels like a journey to me, rather tired and messy, although still filled with gifts, and a journey which will take me into the darkness of winter. It feels like a last chance to ‘see’ before my eyes turn inwards.

    • How odd! This tree is in its third year and I am delighted there is any fruit! It is incredibly sweet, and generous in size as well. I have also picked plums from old trees alongside a lane to make jam – tomorrow’s task!

      • We did have some ghastly weather at plum blossom time. The apples have done well though; I have made two batches of blackberry & apple jelly and tomorrow it’s crab apple picking day.

I'd love to hear from you!
